NTT DATA Launches Global Microsoft Cloud AI Unit

NTT DATA has launched a Global Business Unit for Microsoft Cloud aimed at accelerating AI-powered cloud transformation for enterprises worldwide. This move strengthens the company’s partnership with Microsoft and expands its capabilities in secure, scalable, and compliant cloud modernization.

The announcement, made in London on August 7, 2025, highlights the growing enterprise demand for AI-driven digital transformation that can meet complex sovereignty and compliance requirements.

NTT DATA and Microsoft Drive Global AI-Powered Cloud Innovation

The new business unit will leverage Microsoft Cloud technologies alongside NTT DATA’s expertise in security, cloud-native development, and AI to help organizations modernize operations, enhance collaboration, and improve customer engagement.

Charlie Li, Head of Cloud and Security Services at NTT DATA, stated that the initiative is about combining speed, scale, and trust to address modern business challenges. Whether it’s enabling AI-powered workflows, improving workplace connectivity, or delivering resilient digital experiences, the partnership aims to create measurable business impact.

Worldwide Expertise With 24,000 Microsoft Cloud Specialists

Operating in over 50 countries, NTT DATA’s Microsoft Cloud business unit includes 24,000 Microsoft-certified specialists with expertise in:

  • Cloud-native modernization – Designing and updating applications in Microsoft Azure to boost agility and reduce operational complexity.

  • Cybersecurity and observability – Ensuring robust protection and performance monitoring across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.

  • Agentic AI – Scaling AI agents through Microsoft 365 Copilot and Azure AI Foundry, enabling intelligent orchestration and real-time communications.

Led by Aishwarya Singh, Senior Vice President and Head of the Global Business Unit for Microsoft Cloud, the team will align closely with Microsoft’s engineering and sales ecosystem to streamline delivery from strategy to deployment.

Scaling Enterprise Automation With Agentic AI and Azure

One of the unit’s primary focuses is on Agentic AI, which enables autonomous, multi-agent workflows for enterprise environments. Using Azure AI Agent Service, NTT DATA can help clients design, manage, and orchestrate AI-driven processes across different platforms.

Since launching its Agentic AI Services for Hyperscaler AI Technologies earlier this year, NTT DATA has generated nearly 100 enterprise opportunities in just 90 days. Clients like Newell Brands are already exploring how to integrate AI-powered automation and intelligent workflows into production environments.

Boosting Azure Development Speed With 500+ Cloud Accelerators

To help Azure developers move faster, NTT DATA offers a library of 500+ microservices-based accelerators as part of its Industry Cloud platform. These accelerators are designed to reduce development time, improve scalability, and align with specific industry needs.

The business unit will also focus on:

  • Enhanced workplace collaboration with Microsoft 365.

  • Customer experience transformation through Microsoft Dynamics 365 Contact Center solutions.

  • Sovereign cloud adoption, with NTT DATA being among the few partners working on Sovereign Cloud specialization under the Microsoft AI Cloud Partner Program.

Delivering Secure AI Cloud Solutions for Regulated Industries

With 27 Microsoft Advanced Specializations—including Security, Data & AI for Azure, Infrastructure, and AI Business Solutions—NTT DATA can deliver transformation programs for highly regulated industries such as financial services, healthcare, and public sector organizations.

By integrating AI into cloud-native solutions, the company enables secure data migration, AI/ML workload scaling, and composable infrastructure adoption—ensuring flexibility and long-term resilience.

NTT DATA–Microsoft Alliance Powers Enterprise AI Transformation

Stephen Boyle, Global Leader for SI & Advisory at Microsoft, emphasized that NTT DATA’s role has been pivotal in driving Microsoft Azure adoption globally. This expanded collaboration aims to embed AI capabilities seamlessly into enterprise operations, paving the way for faster innovation and modernization.

As AI and cloud adoption continue to accelerate, the new Global Microsoft Cloud Business Unit positions NTT DATA as a leading partner for enterprises looking to transform securely and at scale.
