What key challenges do CSPs face when delivering private 5G services to enterprises, and how does Spirent help address them?
Speaker: Anil Kolipara (Spirent, now part of Keysight)
If you look at enterprise 5G as a service, it represents a significant opportunity for communication service providers (CSPs), both from a monetization and growth perspective.
However, unlike traditional 5G for consumers, the enterprise segment is extremely diverse. Enterprises include industries such as manufacturing, healthcare, agriculture, and many others โ each with unique technical and business requirements.
In general, 5G as a technology represents a major transformation in how networks are built. Thereโs now much greater use of disaggregation and software-driven architectures. As a result, the supply chain has become far more complex, involving numerous hardware and software components across multiple vendors.
This complexity introduces significant operational challenges for both CSPs and enterprises.
If we think about whatโs truly keeping CSPs up at night, I would group their key challenges into three main areas:
- Competitiveness: How can a CSP remain competitive in the market, especially in enterprise 5G? How can they differentiate their offerings?
- Performance and Assurance: Once they have a competitive offering, how can they continuously monitor it and ensure that it meets the service-level agreements (SLAs) promised to enterprise customers?
- Operational Efficiency: Finally, how can all of this be achieved while maintaining operational efficiency and controlling costs?
These three areas represent the top challenges CSPs face today when delivering private 5G services to enterprises.
