The Brazilian Stock Car Championship has deployed a Nokia private 5G wireless solution to transform connectivity across one of South America’s premier motorsports competitions. Delivered in partnership with WDC Networks and Audace Tech, the deployment supports the championship’s need for reliable, high-performance connectivity during live racing environments, where cars, teams, race operations, and fans all depend on real-time data.
The project demonstrates how private wireless can bring industrial-grade connectivity into the sports and events sector, enabling live telemetry, real-time operational decision-making, and richer digital fan experiences through the Stock Car app.
When Speed, Data, and Fans All Need the Same Network
Motorsports venues create an especially demanding connectivity environment. Race operations require fast, secure, and dependable data exchange while vehicles are moving at high speed, teams are making time-sensitive decisions, and fans expect immediate access to live digital content. Conventional connectivity approaches can struggle to provide the performance, mobility, reliability, and low latency needed for real-time telemetry and live video or audio services in such a dynamic environment.
The objective of the Stock Car Championship deployment was to use private 5G to improve race-day operations, support real-time telemetry and data transmission from moving cars, enable faster operational decision-making, and enhance the fan experience through live access to video and audio content via the Stock Car app.

One Network for Telemetry, Operations, and Fans
Nokia’s private 5G wireless solution was deployed for the Brazilian Stock Car Championship in partnership with WDC Networks and Audace Tech, which were responsible for connectivity and IT solutions for Stock Car. The deployment was showcased during a live race at Autódromo de Interlagos in São Paulo, where Nokia, WDC, and the wider sales, marketing, and communications teams observed the use case in real time and captured professional video content demonstrating the solution in action.
The solution supports real-time telemetry and data transmission from cars in motion, enables race teams and operations stakeholders to make decisions using live information, and gives fans live access to video and audio through the Stock Car app. This is distinct from a conventional connectivity installation because it is being used in a high-speed, live-event environment where mobility, latency, reliability, and operational simplicity are critical to the experience.
What Real-Time Connectivity Changes on Race Day
The deployment delivers benefits across race operations, technical performance, and fan engagement:
- Faster operational decisions. For race operations, private 5G enables real-time data transmission that supports faster decision-making during live events.
- A connected racetrack. For teams and technical stakeholders, the network provides a reliable connectivity layer for telemetry from cars in motion, helping turn the racetrack into a connected operational environment.
- A richer fan experience. For fans, the solution enhances the digital experience by enabling live video and audio access directly through the Stock Car app.
- A visible proof point. For the championship and its technology partners, the deployment creates a visible, high-impact platform to demonstrate how private wireless can support demanding sports and entertainment environments where real-time performance matters.
“With Nokia private 5G, Stock Car is taking race connectivity to a new level. The network enables real-time telemetry, live video and audio transmission from cars in motion, and faster decision-making during races — all while helping us create a more engaging digital experience for fans. In a high-speed motorsports environment, this dedicated 5G connectivity gives us the performance, reliability and flexibility we need to innovate on and beyond the track.” – Simei Pessoa, Innovation Advisor, Veloci Group
A Model for Stadiums, Arenas, and Every Fast-Moving Venue
This deployment shows how private 5G can move beyond traditional industrial settings and become an enabling platform for next-generation sports and live-event experiences. Motorsports is an ideal showcase because it combines high-speed mobility, operational complexity, real-time data dependency, and strong fan engagement requirements. By proving private 5G in the Brazilian Stock Car Championship, Nokia and its partners demonstrate a model that can be replicated across other racing series, stadiums, arenas, large venues, and event environments where organisers need secure, high-capacity, and reliable wireless connectivity.
The project also positions private wireless as a practical foundation for new event services, such as richer fan apps, real-time production workflows, operational analytics, and connected venue experiences. Having been demonstrated in a live race environment at Autódromo de Interlagos, supporting live telemetry, real-time decision-making, and fan access to video and audio through the Stock Car app, the use case has moved beyond concept or lab testing and into an operational race setting. Stock Car is now considering the expansion of private 5G-enabled race operations and fan engagement services across additional events.

Why Public and Best-Effort Connectivity Couldn’t Keep Up
Private 5G was the right technology because the Stock Car Championship required reliable, low-latency, high-performance connectivity in a live motorsports environment with fast-moving vehicles, operational teams, and digitally engaged fans. Public mobile or best-effort connectivity may not provide the same level of dedicated performance, operational control, and predictability needed for race telemetry, real-time decision-making, and live fan services.
Nokia private 5G provides the dedicated wireless foundation needed to support data transmission from cars in motion, live digital content delivery, and operational workflows during race events. Its combination of mobility, capacity, reliability, and deployment flexibility made it well suited to the unique demands of motorsports and live-event environments.
Nokia, WDC Networks, and Audace Tech: Who Built What
Nokia provided the private 5G wireless solution for the Brazilian Stock Car Championship deployment. Nokia’s role was to bring its industrial-grade private wireless capabilities into a live sports and events environment, enabling real-time telemetry, data transmission, operational decision-making, and fan-facing digital services. Nokia also supported marketing and communications activities to showcase the deployment, including on-site engagement during the live race at Autódromo de Interlagos in São Paulo and professional video production to capture the use case in real time.
WDC Networks and Audace Tech were key deployment partners, responsible for the connectivity and IT solutions for Stock Car. Their role was central to implementing the solution in the championship environment and enabling the practical delivery of private 5G-enabled services during live race operations. Stock Car provided the motorsports platform and live-event operating environment in which the solution could demonstrate its impact on race dynamics and fan experience.
