How did Nokia’s private LTE solution in the 700 MHz band help overcome connectivity challenges in such a remote, previously unserved region?
Speaker: Renato Bueno, Head of Enterprise, Latin America, Nokia
Salinas Gold is positioned in Mato Grosso, a very remote state in Brazil. You must understand that Brazil is a vast, continent-wide country. You can fly 4,000 kilometers from north to south and 4,000 kilometers from east to west. And in the specific state where Salinas Gold is located—Mato Grosso—only about 20 to 23% of areas are actually connected with 4G and 5G today.
Therefore, we either build a private network dedicated to solving their specific needs, or there is no alternative. It was key that we had our “only one” 4G solutions, which simplify the deployment. This enables you, in such remote areas, to quickly, simply, and reliably set up high-capacity, trustworthy networks.
This not only enables very fast deployments, like having a full-blown network set up in less than 50 days, but also simplifies maintenance and operations going forward.
