How was the network designed to support future use cases โ such as automation, remote equipment control, or edge analytics โ without requiring major reinvestment?
Speaker: Renato Bueno, Head of Enterprise, Latin America, Nokia
First of all, it starts with bringing a fiberโbased backbone and the backhaul on fiber. That enables quick development, quick expansions, and updates. Secondly, bringing the core to the edge is essential. It enables reliability, because if everything else fails, you still have your network running. The operation cannot stop.
Having a 4G network that can easily scale toward 5G enables Salinas, Venco, and รvato to improve coverage at any time by adding a new site or a new sector. It also improves capacity, either by adding new sectors or simply deploying a new 5G layer.
It is important to notice that Anatel, the Brazilian regulator, has done a very interesting job in making dedicated private spectrum available for mining, ports, and manufacturing players to set up their own solutions. Our solution is ready not only to go beyond high data connectivity speeds for people or machines but also to activate IoT solutions over NB-IoT, or to activate dedicated solutions through CAT-M1.
So, with a very simple setup, we are able to support people, devices, and machines and enable fast-paced capability.
