I talked a lot about the digitalization initiatives we have at Lufthansa Cargo and the different proofs of concept already in place. As I mentioned earlier, to have all these new technologies operating effectively, you need a stable base layer when it comes to transportation – meaning IP transportation and connectivity. Private 5G is the foundation for everything that comes on top of it.
When you look at initiatives such as AGVs, CCTV use cases with augmented reality, or AI use cases connected to CCTV—like automated dimensioning of freight and deliveries, incoming and outgoing freight detection, and similar applications—they all depend on a reliable and secure layer of connectivity. Private 5G provides that foundation, and it aligns very well with our strategies for the future and our broader digital transformation and sustainability goals.
