Bouygues Telecom, Siemens and Alten partner to target industrial private 5G network in France

Bouygues Telecom Entreprises, Siemens France, and Alten have joined forces in a three-year partnership to develop solutions for boosting industrial 5G in France.

The partnership aims to target both large and medium-sized companies in the country. The collaboration agreement outlines the coupling of Bouygues Telecom’s 5G network and private network solutions with Siemens France’s IoT solutions and Alten’s implementation and integration expertise.

The companies aim to provide customized support packages with multiple uses of 5G for manufacturers, accelerating the digital transition and offering tailored support for auditing, transformation drivers, and implementation.

The partnership intends to deploy industrial 5G networks in private, public, or hybrid modes, addressing different use cases like control of critical applications, automated robots, or augmented reality.

Jean-Christophe Ravaux, director of B2B market at Bouygues Telecom, stated that the partnership between Bouygues Telecom Entreprises, Alten, and Siemens France aims to combine their expertise to support industrial customers in their digital transformation better.

Bouygues Telecom will provide customized connectivity solutions for different industries with a focus on quality of service, network security, and low latency. The industrial 5G networks will be deployed in private, public, or hybrid modes and address various use cases, such as controlling critical applications, augmented reality, and automated robots.

Vincent Jauneau, director of digital industries for Siemens France, highlighted that the latest industrial communication requirements are driving market players to rethink how their factories and production lines are designed. Their router, tailored to the requirements of 5G, can meet the challenges of streamlined resource management and large-scale personalized services for operational performance and network load.

The partnership has set four main objectives for this year: to promote Industry 4.0 and Industrial 5G challenges; implement practical solutions for marketing and deploying joint solutions; create service offerings; and build ready-to-deploy use cases and solutions in situations where the use of 5G is particularly justified. Manufacturers will also have access to demonstrations of the integration of 5G solutions in the three demonstration areas established under this partnership.

The demonstration area for Bouygues Telecom is the InnoLab for Enterprise, where companies can test private 5G and its use cases, particularly in the industrial sector. Siemens France will provide interested firms with access to its Digital Experience Center (DEC) for demonstrations of joint solutions, while the Alten Labs will also be available for demonstrations.
