O2 and Freshwave Boost 4G/5G at UK's Haven Parks Holiday Destination
Virgin Media O2 is partnering with neutral host provider Freshwave to strengthen mobile coverage across 22 Haven holiday parks, aligning seasonal demand with targeted network investment. The project is part of O2s Mobile Transformation Plan, a multi-year program focused on improving capacity and coverage where traffic spikes. The upgrades span popular UK staycation destinations, including coastal and rural parks where coverage can be patchy and demand is highly seasonal. Four parks are live now, with the remaining sites phased over the peak travel window to improve both outdoor and indoor experience for guests, staff, and nearby communities.

More than $14 billion has been invested across the CBRS stacklicenses, RAN, devices, infrastructure, sensors, and software. Over 420,000 CBRS radio nodes (CBSDs) are in service. The device ecosystem is broad: Apple and Samsung ship n48-capable handsets; industrial and FWA suppliers support n48 CPEs and routers; Ericsson, Nokia, Samsung, JMA Wireless and others provide radio and DAS. This is not a pilot; it is production infrastructure. Refarming would force replacement or retuning of hundreds of thousands of base stations and millions of end devices, plus upgrades to SAS integrations and enterprise control planes.

Leveraging the Citizen’s Broadband Radio Service (CBRS) spectrum, Celona’s solution delivered reliable, interference-resistant connectivity, optimizing real-time data communication for Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) and forklifts, thereby minimizing production delays and improving material handling efficiency. Additionally, Celona’s Neutral Host capabilities seamlessly integrated public cellular networks through a partnership with T-Mobile, providing uninterrupted indoor and outdoor connectivity for employees. This deployment not only showcased the transformative impact of Celona’s private 5G and Neutral Host solutions on manufacturing automation but also set a new benchmark for scalable, secure, and collaborative network integration across industrial environments.
