CEM/OSS for Hybrid Networks Predictive Analytics & Dynamic offer creation

How to use personalization and real-time data analytics to improve customer centricity and inspire loyalty. This Catalyst has developed an innovative analytics application to optimize and personalize offers for customers. The idea is for communications service providers (CSPs) to be able to offer custom packages to their subscribers based on real-time, predictive analysis of individual service users. With this high level of personalization, CSPs can improve customers’ perceptions about the company. The project shows how real-time usage data from hybrid networks, made up of physical and virtual components, can be combined to make this possible. The collected data is analyzed...

5G Intelligent Service Operations

This Catalyst, which is a continuation of last year’s 5G service operations project, is one of two related projects looking at the lifecycle of a 5G-enabled services. This team is focusing on service operations while the other is focusing on planning and optimization.  This catalyst demonstrates how these services can be operationalized, orchestrated and monetized by an advanced ecosystem that includes end-to-end slice management, dynamic Service Orchestration, reactive and proactive assurance and dedicated policy management. By providing closed-loop automation, the ecosystem ensures that dynamically changing demand and unforeseen circumstances don’t impact the quality of service provided. Focusing on slice management,...

Cloud technology, Software-defined Networking (SDN), and Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) promises to radically change the economics and velocity of network services by deploying virtual network functions on standard, low cost, clouds and commodity off-the-shelf (COTS) servers and switches. The benefits can only be realized, however, if network functions can be seamlessly deployed and managed on distributed cloud-based infrastructure that consists of many thousands of cooperating virtual machines. Today’s data center architecture was built for Web and cloud native applications that are primarily stateless and feature application-level resiliency. Network functions such as subscriber access/management and networking policy databases are fundamentally different....

Fulfillment & Activation of Intercontinental MEF 3.0 Service Spanning Four Operators

The main goal of this PoC is to demonstrate the automated & assured orchestration of MEF services across multiple operators’ domains on production networks. The PoC demonstrates the ordering and fulfillment of a complex service comprising connectivity services and VNFs. The showcase demonstrates the feasibility of using NFV-based Service Activation and Testing solutions for MEF 3.0 Carrier Ethernet services via LSO Presto APIs. As part of this PoC, several LSO: SOF implementations are used (e.g. ONAP, proprietary) in a single MEF 3.0 Carrier Ethernet service deployment interacting via LSO Sonata and LSO Interlude APIs.

End-to-End Service Orchestration of E-LAN over Multiple Domains via LSO Interlude

Zero-touch automation of network services across domains and technologies provides many business opportunities. At MEF18, Eurofiber demonstrates end-to-end service orchestration of E-LAN services over multiple providers and across vendors and technologies. The company relies on the Inmanta Service Orchestrator to achieve fully automated fulfillment and management of the E-LAN services. End-to-end service orchestration results in much faster delivery, more flexibility, and higher reliability. This PoC is the result of the actual Proof of Concept that has been created within the Eurofiber Group together with Inmanta. In the Showcase, a customer can order (or adapt) an E-LAN service by providing a...
